Tormenting Peak
Deck Primer
Here we go again !
Tormenting Peak is a "Caturday" type deck with that good ol' no energy flavour ! That Hisuian Oveqwil from Lost Origin can for sure be pesky and poison your tummy if you don`t cook it on time and with substantial heat. With its spiky passive attack Tormenting Poison it can apply 5 damage counters of Poison Damage between turns. Well you might think to yourself "that ain`t so hefty or convinient" , well it ain't. What makes it "neat and convinient" or "pesky" if you would say is the application of Poison Damage multiplier. That part of this games strategy starts with a very special Radiant Hisuian Sneasler from Lost Origin. Radiant Hisuian Sneasler here has a neat Ability Poision Peak, which gives two more damage counters to your opponents Poisoned Pokemon. This ability makes it a perfect company for our next link in the poison chain, Toxicroak from Sword&Shield. Toxicroak has the Ability More Poison which very like as Hisuian Sneasler , can add two more damage counters to your opponents Poisoned Pokemon. The poisoned chain can ideally work in 4 + 1 setup with all Toxicroak out on the bench with Sneasler, but technically you mostly peak to 3 + 1 to have two spaces for Overqwil. This setup can give you either 80 or ideally 100 Poison Damage to stack on top of Tormenting Poison.
The fact that this deck doesn't have to run any energy is what makes is very versatile. It is packed with 3 copies of Boss's Orders, one copy of Path To The Peak, three copies of Galar Mines, and one copy of Temple Of Sinnoh. These are meant to be used in combination to block your opponents Pokemon into Active for the Poison Damage knockouts. Roxanne is included in two copies for wiping your opponents hand in crucial moments. Since you don't have to worry about abilities or energies playing either Path To The Peak or Temple Of Sinnoh is sweet and carefree. Also the absence of energies left plenty of space for all wonderful items like Quick Ball, Ultra Ball , Vip Battlepass and plenty of Switch and Balloons. Another sweet detail in this denyinig/passive aggresive list is another fresh gimmick from Lost Origin and that is Panic Mask. This little gizmo for our Hisuian Overqwil may give it a chance of being ressistant to attacks in case your opponent has 40 or less HP remaining. So in case they are splashed in poison enough all they can do is boil or retreat if you give them a chance.
Now go out there and boil some opponents in poison with Tormenting Peak!
