GLC Forbidden Fairies Deck
Deck Primer
Flow into battle with the flowery might of Forbidden Fairy type pokemon! They said it couldn't be done...they said fairy pokemon were dead and yet here they stand in all their glory. In all honesty it was only a matter of time before I took an attempt at building a viable fairy deck for GLC. Unfortunately fairy types will continue to get worse as more sets are released buffing other types along the way. I believe now is the time to secure a true victory with fairy before the other types in the format power creep out of range. With that being said let's go over some of the combos within this highly fragile fairy deck. *An important note is that deck space is SUPER limited I wanted to try to fit muscle band, Avery, and Lt. Surge, Erika's, Marnie, Research but I'm not sure if you need to take out for those* Moving along this is an attacking style fairy deck which surprisingly is actually able to keep up with some B tier decks. Our primary support pokemon are: Florges for energy cost reduction, Shiinotic for pokemon search, and Whimsicott for consistency boost. I. would've liked to add Lost Thunder Ribombee and BREAKthrough Mr. Mime. as support but again room is tight. Our main attackers are what hold the deck back as the best one's have a special condition to fulfill before doing max output. Gardevoir is our best attacker with Sensitive Ray only costing a DCE with Florges out and outputting 180 DMG if Kukui is played. However it is a stage 2 and getting that out early can be tough but accomplished in this deck with Green's exploration. Granbull enters the fray next and while there are other interesting Granbull's out there I think this one paired with Chaos Tower is the most consistent. It doesn't restrict your hand size like the Lost Thunder Granbull and is doesn't limit it's viability as a glass cannon attacker like the Sun & Moon one. No this Granbull can enter the game early or late and with Chaos Tower negate it's own effect to confuse itself allowing you to attack for multiple turns with it. Lastly we have our basic attackers with Xerneas, Tapu Fini and Mimikyu! Xerneas is an ideal start pokemon allowing us to instantly get a supporter that can snowball the game into our favor, while Mimikyu is a really hail mary type or revenge attacker that once in a while can use an opponent's power against them. Mimikyu is not great but my god is it satisfying returning an attack to the opponent that they never see coming. Tapu Fini is a great get off the field attacker with the ability to just disrupt your opponent's attacker by dreaming it away. All in all this probably isn't the best fairy deck for GLC but as an attacking list I think it gets as close as possible. Please leave reccomendations down below or ideas you have for the Fairy Archetype in the Gym Leader Challenge format, thank you for reading!
