Do the Evolution (Expanded Degeneracy)
Deck Primer
Is it good? No. Is it funny? Not if you're playing against it.
//The Deck//
Similarly to 'Shock Lock' gimmick decks, this deck intends to utilise Stoutland's Sentinel ability to lock your opponent out of playing supporters. As opposed to running something like Rare Candy, we're running Bunnelby with TM: Evolution - and because of Bunnelby's ancient trait Omega Barrage it can get both Stoutland and the item locking Omastar out on turn 1.
With your two walls out, ideally you would Lysandre (or Roar from Herdier, if you're feeling spicy) a defenceless Pokemon like an opposing Dedenne GX or Crobat V, and then make use of Memory Energy to use Lillipup's Baby-Doll Eyes to keep them trapped in the active, unable to play Switch or a supporter like Guzma. In matchups with few non-attacking Pokemon you can try to keep your opponent out of the game by spamming Crushing Hammer and similar supporters while looking for an opportunity to play Captivating Poke Puff or Target Whistle.
Obviously Lugia VSTAR decks will be a problem (as it is for everything, annoying card that it is), since they run so many Rainbow style energy there isn't a particular card you can lock in the active. In that matchup you'd probably want to try and get out a second Stoutland by manually evolving and try to cycle them whilst discarding your opponent's special energy to get to an endgame where they simply can't attack you anymore. Pokemon like Wobbuffet (Phantom Forces) and Garbodor (BREAKpoint) can also ruin your fun. Nobody is perfect, though.
//Other Options//
Cards like Keldeo-EX and Dawn Wings Necrozma-GX are uncommon, but can theoretically break your lock - a card like Alolan Muk (Sun & Moon) or Path to the Peak could potentially fix that. Vileplume (Ancient Origins) is marginally better than Omastar at the start of the game since you can searh Oddish out, but then you end up unable to play item cards yourself for the rest of the game. You could also elect to run Dowsing Machine over Comp.
