Deck Primer
Base Neo format decklist. Originally taken from Jason Klaczinski's blog, with minor adjustments.
This deck Utilizes Dark Golbat and Dark Crobat to deal damage upon Evolution from the bench, often aiming to take out baby pokemon for easy prize cards or soften up big Pokemon for Sneasel OHKO's. Fill up your bench ASAP with Professor Elm, Good Manners and Cleffa, while loading up Sneasel for Beat Up attacks (Ideal bench and active setup: 1-2 Cleffa, 2 Sneasel, 2-3 Zubat). Take out your opponent's baby pokemon with your Crobat line, and save your Sneasel for larger threats later on.
This deck is highly susceptible to ER/SER, so make sure you have Ecogym in play or Lass in hand before placing your second Energy on Sneasel for Beat Up (if you know they are playing a high density of either). It is ok to just build up your bench and pass turn while you wait for the opportunity to strike back- try loading sneasels with only 1 energy until the turn you plan to unleash the Beat Up. Muk is also problematic for this deck, as it renders your entire Crobat line and Hyper Devolutions completely useless. To counter this, bide your time and spam Eeeeeek! until you have your 2nd energy ready to attach to Sneasel and a Double Gust in hand. Once you do, pull that Muk off the bench and send him to the shadow realm!
It is also imperitive that you keep as many Golbat/Crobat lines available for picking off Cleffa's and other problematic baby Pokemon like Pichu. It is ok to discard these to Oak, Itemfinder or Computer Search AS LONG AS you still have Nightly Garbage Run in the deck (or in discard with Item Finders left in Library). Mr. Fuji comes in handy with picking up your Crobat pile and shuffling it back into the deck to re-play later. Players should avoid evolving Zubat or Golbat unless they have a 30HP Pokemon in play or you REALLY need to apply pressure/ KO a threat. It is not advised to play them simply because you can or for damage value- it is much better to save them for the right time. If you find you have multiple in hand, but nothing you can kill easily- just Cleffa or Elm them back into your Library and draw them later.
Other notes: in most cases you CANNOT afford to pitch Rainbow or Darkness Energys to Itemfinder/ Oak / Computer Search- If you do, it will likely cost you the game later on. Just hold off on these plays and wait until your energy has been played, or better cards are drawn for discarding.
Narrow Gym is only really for picking up a Crobat pile from your bench so you can replay later, OR to remove another gym from play while preserving your very important Ecogyms.
Worst matchup in the format: Metal Mewtwo (probably).
