New Set ‘Paldea Evolved’ Officially Revealed! The second set of the Scarlet & Violet era!

Pokemon officially revealed their new upcoming set, Paldea Evolved, as part of the Scarlet & Violet era. This set will be released on June 9, 2023, with over 190 cards. This set will include cards from the Japanese ‘Triplet Beat’, ‘Snow Hazard’, ‘Clay Burst’ and other unreleased English cards.

Description

 

Scarlet & Violet—Paldea Evolved will introduce more Pokémon ex, which sport high HP as well as powerful attacks and Abilities but give up two Prize cards when Knocked Out. Trainers will also continue to see Tera Pokémon ex in the new expansion, including Slowking, Forretress and Dedenne, displayed in full-art illustrations to capture the unique crystal effects of the characters. Alternate art styles will also be introduced for illustration rare and special illustration rare cards, allowing Trainers to collect unique art cards that spotlight the Pokémon’s personality traits or Evolutions.

 

Noteworthy cards from the expansion include:

  • 15 Pokémon ex and three Tera Pokémon ex

  • 36 illustration rare Pokémon

  • 18 ultra rare Pokémon ex and eight ultra rare Supporter cards

  • 15 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards

  • Nine hyper rare gold etched cards, which can include Pokémon ex, Trainer and Energy cards

Ability - Magic Bouquet

You must discard a Grass Energy card from your hand in order to use this Ability. Once during your turn, you may put 3 damage counters on 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon.

 

CC - Rough Nails 100+

If your opponent's Active Pokémon already has any damage counters on it, this attack does 120 more damage.

Heal 30 damage from each of your Pokémon.

 

RR - Burning Voice 270-

This attack does 10 less damage for each damage counter on this Pokémon.


Quaquaval ex

W - Exciting Samba 60

Switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Then, your opponent switch their Active Pokémon with 1 of their Benched Pokémon

 

WC - Corkscrew Shot 230

Put 2 Energy attached to this Pokémon into your hand.


Paldean Clodsire ex

Ability - Poisonous Marshland

Once during your turn, if a Stadium is in play, you may make your opponent's Active Pokémon Poisoned.

 

DCC - Needle Bones 200

Flip a coin. If tails, this Pokémon can't attack during your next turn.

Move all damage counters from 1 of your Benched Pokémon to your opponent's Active Pokémon.

 

PPP - Wonder Shot 170

Discard an Energy attached to his Pokémon.

WW - Hale Blade 60x

You may discard any amount of Water Energy from your Pokémon. This attack does 60 damage for each card you discarded in this way.


Ting-Lu ex

Ability - Binding Wisdom

As long as this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, your opponent's Pokémon in play that have damage counters on them have no Abilities, except for Pokémon ex.

 

FFF - Land Scoop 150

Put 2 damage counters on 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon.


Chi-Yu ex

Discard the top 2 cards of your opponent's deck.

 

RR - Flame Surge 100

Choose up to 3 of your Benched Pokemon and attach 1 Fire Energy from your deck to each of them. Then, shuffle your deck.

You can use this ability only during your first turn. You may discard your hand and draw 7 cards. You can't use more than 1 ‘Fresh Retake’ Ability.

 

C - Self-motivation 20

I really look forward to this set because I think this set will be the mark of the real Pokemon ex era with so many new Pokemon ex and their supporting cards.
