One Prize Lost Zone Turbo
Deck Primer
This deck aims to get 4 cards Lost Zones Turn 1 so that you can immediately start swinging into your opponents Pokemon with Cramorant. By turn 2 you will have 10 Lost Zoned (4 more from the Comfeys/2 from a Colress's Experiment) so you can start popping benched pokemon with Sableye. If you went first this could be before your opponent has even had a chance to evolve their pokemon!
Use your plethora of switching cards/boss's orders to maintain complete control of the game state.
If your opponent has a lot of energies build up on their active pokemon and a benched pokemon with a 2+ retreat cost use boss's orders/escape rope to buy yourself 1+ turns to poke them with Sableye. (This would not apply to the mirror match since they can so easily switch their pokemon and watch for decks that play double energies)
Radiant Charizard is your finisher. Save it and the fire energy until it's time to end the game. Do not lost zone these cards. You may need to use Sableye to get a Vmax down a little bit to prepare for the Radiant Charizard.
Try to lost zone draw cards like Trekking Shoes/Gutsy Pickaxe or 'Search Cards' you no longer need unless you have something specific your trying to draw into in order to keep comboing (e.g. A switch card or Comfey)
You need to think many turns ahead. Spreading your sable eye damage properly is vital to winning. Set your opponents Pokemon up to be killed by a single Cramorant attack or get them to 60/120 so a future sable eye can take them out.
Why no Mirage Gate? The card requires set up and requires you to have energy in your deck which you may not have by the time your set up. I do not want to play inconsistant card that return my energies to deck like Energy Recycler. Since I will not be using Mirage Gate I dont play any pokemon that require more than 1 energy to use. This gives me flexibility and allows me to never commit energies to the board. If I dont have to commit energies to the board than I don't need to play many energies. Further increasing the consistency of my deck.
You may be asking yourself why I dont play more Level Balls over Gutsy Pickaxe. The reasoning is I already have 16 ways to comfey first turn (17 including the Level Ball) and 12 Switch Cards (17 if you include the energies, 19 if you include Beach Courts which doesnt stack with Energy Retreating). I wanted to keep the ratio of 'Switch Cards' and 'Comfey/Comfey Searchers' equal for consistency purposes. I give the Switch Cards a slight edge since their value continues after comboing. The Gutsy Pickaxe has an ~ equal chance of drawing me either one of my combo pieces. While having the additional chance of drawing into my powerful Supporters. The Level Ball also can become a brick as you may run out of targets quickly.
If you take into consideration that Trekking Shoes/Gutsy make the deck only 52 cards, the chance of opening 1 'Comfey/Comfey Searcher' and 1 'Switch Cards' is 95%, the chance of opening 2 of each is 70% and the chance of opening 3 of each is 24%! Mind you this is still not taking into consideration Colress's Experiment and the drawing you will do off of Comfey! This is the level of consistency that will insure your quick set up.
It is important you do not deck yourself out! Once you get down to ~10 cards in deck you should have all the resources you need in hand to take control of the game. Do not draw at this point unless you have to.
As someone who traditionally plays Yu-Gi-Oh this deck has created my interest in Pokemon after a friend showed me it. The comboing and drawing this deck does is very attractive to me. Feels fast..... feels like Yu-Gi-Oh.
