Pokemon Card Game Japan has revealed a full card list from their upcoming set SV3a ‘Raging Surf'. This set will be the next set in the Scarlet & Violet era and will be released on September 22, 2023, with a price tag of 180 yen/pack. In this set, Pokémon revealed several new Pokémon ex, including Gholdengo ex and Garchomp ex with a Water Tera-type. This set also features a new Tool card mechanic called Technical Machine.

 

The set will have over 62 cards before SR, SAR, UR, etc.

Froslass ex

Ability - Out of Reach

When this Pokémon is in the Active Spot and is Knocked Out, flip a coin. If heads, your opponent takes 1 less Prize card for that Knock Out.

 

WW - Frost Bullet 140

This attack does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon.


Lapras

C - Into the Deep

Put up to 3 Basic Energy cards from your discard pile into your hand. 

 

WC - Freeze-Dry 50

Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.


Remoraid

C - Water Gun 10


Octillery

Ability - Current Draw

Once during your turn, when you play this card from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon, you may draw 3 cards

 

WC - Smoke Bomb 60

During your opponent’s next turn, if the Defending Pokémon tries to attack, they flip a coin. If tails, that attack fails.


Snorunt

W -  Ice Shard 10+

If your opponent’s Active Pokémon is a Fighting Pokémon, this attack does 30 more damage.


Garchomp ex

F - Hydro Lander 160

Attach up to 3 Fighting Energy from your discard pile to your Benched Pokemon in any way you like.

 

CC - Sonic Dive

Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon. This attack does 120 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)


Mantyke

O - Fluffy Healing

Heal 120 damage from 1 of your Benched Pokémon.


Palkia

CC - Teleport Break 30

You may switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon.

 

WCC - Prize Count 80+

If you have more Prize cards remaining than your opponent, this attack does 80 more damage.


Wimpod

W - Hide

Flip a coin. If heads, during your opponent’s next turn, prevent all damage from and effects of attacks done to this Pokémon.

This attack does 20 damage for each card in your opponent’s hand.

Before doing damage, discard all Pokémon Tools from your opponent’s Active Pokémon.

 

LLC - Raging Thunder 130

This attack does 40 damage to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)


Tapu Koko ex

LC - Revenge Shock 20+

If any of your Pokémon were Knocked Out by damage from an attack from your opponent's Pokémon during their last turn, this attack does 90 more damage, and your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.

 

LLC - Extreme Current 180

Discard an Energy from this Pokémon.

If you go first, you can use this attack on your first turn. Search your deck for up to 3 Basic Pokémon and put them onto your Bench. Then, shuffle your deck.

You may shuffle this Pokémon and all attached cards into your deck.

If you played a Supporter card from your hand during this turn, this attack does 70 more damage.

Flip a coin. If heads, switch 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon with their Active Pokémon. If tails, switch your Active Pokémon with one of your Benched Pokémon.

Looks at the top 4 cards of your deck and put 2 of them into your hand. Then, shuffle the other 2 cards and put them on the bottom of your deck.


Parasol Lady

Shuffle your hand into your deck, then draw 4 cards. 

If you use this card on your first turn going second, draw 8 cards instead.


Medical Energy

When you attach this card from your hand to 1 of your Pokemon, heal 30 damage from that Pokemon.


What do you guys think of this set? I think this set can be a great set to have because some of the cards can complement some of the current decks to make it even better. However, I really hope the improvement is for a better format and not to make a very one-sided format.
