Pokemon Card Game Japan just officially revealed their annual High-Class set, S12a ‘VSTAR Universe’. This set is set to release on December 2, 2022, with a price tag of 550 yen per Booster Pack (10 cards).
In this set, you will get 2 new rarities, Art Rare (AR) and Super Art Rare (SAR). These rarities are similar to Character Rare or Character Super Rare, but the difference here is that the art does not include any Trainer. You will also get an alternate art for regular Pokemon V or Pokemon VSTAR where these cards can be found in our English promo card or special product.

Charizard VSTAR SAR
RRC - Explosive Fire 130
If this Pokémon has any damage counters on it, this attack does 100 more damage.
[VSTAR Power] RRRC - Star Blaze 320
Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon. (You can't use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.)
Mewtwo VSTAR SAR
PC - Psy Purge 90
Discard up to 3 Psychic Energy from your Pokémon. This attack does 90 damage for each card you discarded in this way.
[VSTAR Power] PC - Star Raid
This attack does 120 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon V. This damage isn't affected by Weakness or Resistance. (You can't use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.)
Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR SAR
CC - Ticking Curse: 50
This attack does 50 damage for each of your Pokémon that has any damage counters on it.
[VSTAR Power] Ability - Phantom Star
During your turn, you may discard your hand and draw 7 cards. (You can't use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.)
Hisuian Samurott VSTAR SAR
DD - Merciless Blade 110
If your opponent's Active Pokémon already has any damage counters on it, this attack does 110 more damage.
[VSTAR Power] Ability - Moon Cleave Star
During your turn, you may put 4 damage counters on 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. (You can't use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.)
Manaphy AR
Ability - Wave Veil
Prevent all damage done to your Benched Pokémon by attacks from your opponent's Pokémon.
W - Rain Splash 20
Mew AR
Ability - Mysterious Tail
Once during your turn, if this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, you may look at the top 6 cards of your deck, reveal an Item card you find there, and put it into your hand. Shuffle the other cards back into your deck.
PC - Psyshot 30
Diancie AR
Ability - Princess’s Curtain
As long as this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, whenever your opponent plays a Supporter card from their hand, prevent all effects of that card done to your Benched Basic Pokémon.
C - Spike Draw 20
Draw 2 cards.
Absol AR
D - Swirling Disaster
This attack does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)
DC - Claw Rend 50
If your opponent's Active Pokémon already has any damage counters on it, this attack does 70 more damage.
Altaria AR
Ability - Tempting Tune
Once during your turn, you may search your deck for a Supporter card, reveal it, shuffle your deck, then put that card on top of it.
WM - Glide 60
Hisuian Goodra AR
Ability - Metal Lodging
Prevent all damage done to each of your Basic Pokémon that has any Metal Energy attached by attacks from your opponent's Pokémon V.
WMC - Heavy Impact 140

What do you guys think of this set? I think there will also be a surprise in the Trainer section, we just haven’t seen it. This can be a great product for you to buy because in terms of playability this set is a reprint from previous sets and you can easily get almost any viable cards you want. On the other hand, the new AR and SAR rarity is an easy way to start collecting Pokemon cards.
