Metagross, Tyranitar, and Ruffian Revealed from SV9 ‘Battle Partners’!  Can Tyranitar be used as a stall and mill deck?

Pokemon Card Game Japan officially revealed more cards from the upcoming new set, SV9 ‘Battle Partners’ which will feature Trainer’s Pokemon. This set will be released in Japan on January 24, 2025, marking the rotation of ‘F’ marked cards. Beforehand, Trainer’s Pokemon were already revealed in August during Worlds where there are several key Pokemon such as Lillie’s Clefairy ex, N’s Zoroark ex, and Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex. This time, Pokemon Card Game Japan officially revealed several cards with 4 Trainers being mentioned on their set page which are  N, Lillie, Iono, and Hop.

Metagross

P - Wrack Down 60

 

PP - Joint Beam 130+

If Beldum and Metang are on the Bench, this attack does 150 more damage.

PP - Psybeam 30


Tyranitar

Ability - Daunting Glare

While this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, your opponent can’t play any Item cards from their hand.

 

DC - Cracking Stomp 150

Discard the top 2 cards of your opponent’s deck.


Pupitar

CC - Take Down 60

This Pokémon also does 20 damage to itself.


Larvitar

CC - Crunch 20

Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy from your opponent’s Active Pokémon.


Ruffian

Supporter

Choose 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon. Discard a Pokemon Tool and a Special Energy from that Pokemon.
