Pokemon Card Game Japan has revealed Wiglett AR, Sandile AR, and Oinkologne SR, as part of the upcoming Scarlet ex and Violet ex sets, which will be available on January 20, 2023, for 180 yen per Booster Pack. Both sets will contain 78 cards before any SR, UR, HR, or other rarities. These cards were revealed on their official YouTube channel where they unbox a Booster Box of Scarlet ex and Violet ex.

On the other hand, in the official promotional video, Pokemon Japan revealed Pawmot AR and Kingambit AR in their respective set. This means that we will be having roughly 6 AR cards in each set (unconfirmed).

In these sets, Art Rare (AR) and Special Art Rare (SAR) are back! Art Rare and Special Art Rare are first introduced in VSTAR Universe which is similar to Character Rare and Character Super Rare but has no Trainer in the artwork.

The ex-mechanic will be reintroduced in this set. The ex-mechanic is identical to the other Rule Box Pokemon in that if your Pokémon gets knocked, you will receive additional Prize cards. The ex-mechanic differs in that it must evolve from a regular Pokemon (if it is an Evolution Pokemon).

Also in the video, it is confirmed that the drop rate in this set will be:

1 SR/Higher Rarity card
3 AR cards
4 ex Pokemon cards

Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Burned.

GCC - Spicy Excitement 90+

If this Pokémon has any Fire Energy attached, this attack does 90 more damage.

Pawmot AR

Ability - Lightning Revitalization

Once during your turn, choose 1 Basic Lightning Energy from your deck and attach it to this Pokémon. Then, shuffle your deck.

LLC - Electropaw 230

Discard all Energy attached to this Pokémon.

Mabosstiff AR

Ability - Memories to Live

Once during your turn, you can use this ability. Your opponent switches their Active Pokémon with 1 of their Benched Pokémon.

DDC - Wild Tackle 160

This Pokémon also does 30 damage to itself.

What do you guys of these newly revealed cards? I really like the drop rate for the boxes meaning that we can at least get a playset of those cards when we open 4 boxes. Let’s just hope that we get better drop rates once we get the English one.
