Genesect V: The Ultimate Draw Power? Today we are going to talk about a card that is going to be released in our future set Fusion Strike.

Hello guys! Welcome back to another article on pokemoncard.io!

Today we are going to talk about a card that is going to be released in our future set Fusion Strike.

It’s Genesect V!

Genesect V

Ability - Fusion System

Once during your turn, you may draw cards until you have the same number of cards in your hand as your Fusion Strike Pokémon in play.

MMC - Techno Blast 210

During your next turn, this Pokémon can't attack

Weakness = Fire x2 || Resistance = Grass -30 || Retreat = 2 Energies

Card Overview

This card is basically an Oranguru from Sun & Moon, but you can draw as many as 6 cards in a turn with a single Genesect V in play. You also can play another Genesect V and use its ability too. So basically you can set up your board in a single turn. Its attack damage is also considerably high and you can make it even bigger with Power Tablet in play.

Partner?

This card alone can be the sole attacker in the deck. If you do so, you can try to bring a Toxtricity line to reduce the opponent’s VMAX Pokemon HP by 30. Also, almost every Fusion deck brings a single copy of Oricorio to reduce the incoming damage by 20.

You can also pair Genesect V with Mew VMAX. Since Mew VMAX attack cost is fewer than Genesect V, it can attack quicker and copy Genesect V attack. But remember, Mew VMAX still can’t attack the next turn unless you retreat and bring another attacker (or bring it to the Active again).

Power Tablet

This item is a must-have in Fusion deck, its 30+ damage can bring a big turnaround in some games. If you pair it with Toxtricity ‘Max Downer’, you can knock out VMAX Pokemon too (with the correct calculation).

Path to the Peak?

This stadium is a big no to this deck since it can shut down Genesect V ability. The way to counter it is just simply bumped it with another stadium or you can bring Pumpkaboo from Evolving Skies.

Example Deck

Here are some of the example decks for the upcoming Genesect V card.

And this is the example when paired with Mew VMAX

This is just an example, if the deck didn’t work for you, you can try to experiment with it yourself and get comfortable with it.

VS Victini VMAX

In this matchup, you can try to accelerate faster with the usage of Elesa’s Sparkle. If you’re playing with Mew VMAX, you are in a better spot since you need to be gusted if Genesect V wants to be knocked. Mew VMAX attack cost is also less and you can try to accelerate faster.

Other Matchups

For other matchups, I think you will be okay unless you meet Decidueye

Metal Pokemon have Metal Saucer to accelerate Metal Energy. So even you are getting disrupted with Crushing Hammer, you can just accelerate back with Metal Saucer unless the opponent got 4 heads on their Hammers (Good luck!). So when facing a disruption deck, I think Genesect V still can do things.

For matchups when Path to the Peak is played, you can just try to bump the enemy stadium or use Pumpkaboo. But you can use it to your advantage if you are already set up.

Other than that, I think the biggest drawback from this deck is when you cannot set up many Genesect in your early turn and lose early momentum. This deck, in my opinion, can compete with the current meta because of Power Tablet. Its +30 is really helping Fusion Pokemon to keep the damage high and even try to make a OHKO.

Conclusion

Genesect V can be better than Zacian V because its attack almost hit the same damage, can be increase further with Power Tablet, and not ending our turn while using its ability. Even though we are losing its acceleration, you can still use Elesa's Sparkle to accelerate. In my opinion, this deck can find cards you want so easy because you can use Genesect V ability more than once. When Fusion Strikes comes out, you can try to experiment with it with many combos as its draw power is unbelievably good and not limited to once per turn.
