Dragapult: I’m Immortal! Today I’m going to talk about a Single Prize deck again, and it’s our non-V counterpart of one of the most popular decks right now. It’s Dragapu

Hello, guys welcome back to another pokemoncard.io article! Today I’m going to talk about a Single Prize deck again, and it’s our non-V counterpart of one of the most popular decks right now. It’s Dragapult!

Here is the example of the deck:

This is just an example, if the deck didn’t work for you, you can try to experiment with it yourself and get comfortable with it.

Deck Overview

This is a straightforward deck, you evolve into Dragapult and rely on its ability to survive as many turns as you can. Mew is here to help you find Rare Candy, Pokegear, or any other items that can help you evolve or accelerate faster.

Dragapult

This is your attacker. Its attack is almost similar to its VMAX counterpart, 2 energies and you can place damage to the bench. But, the main part is its ability. If Dragapult is being attacked, the attacker needs to flip a coin first, if heads, the attack fails and you don’t get any damage. So, if you always get heads you are basically immortal. But you need to remember, you cannot use Glimwood Tangle because it is an ability.

Its attack is also somewhat decent. Its attack is only short by a little margin from its VMAX counterpart so you can try to snipe some bench and take some knock out. Also, since it only takes 2 energy to attack, you can attack as soon you evolve into Dragapult.

Mew

Since Celebrations was released, Mew can be an option for you if you want to play Stage-2 decks. Its ability can be used to search Item cards that in this deck mostly will be Evolution Incense, Rare Candy, balls, or Pokegear. You can try to swap the Mew line with the Drizzile line. I’m not recommending if you evolve it all the way to Inteleon as deck spaces in Stage 2 decks can be quite hard to accommodate. But you can try to experiment with it if you want since Inteleon can do some sniping or find 2 Trainer cards.

Trainer

Raihan and Bruno are used when you get knocked out and since it is a Single Prize deck, knock-out will likely occur every turn unless Dragapult’s ability really helps you to survive.

Fog Crystal and Level Ball is the only searcher for Basic Pokemon since you only play 8 Basic Pokemon. Fog Crystal can also be used to find an energy that you can use to attach.

Pokegear is here because if you bricked, you can try to search for Pokegear with Mew's ability and hope you find a Supporter from the Pokegear.

Scoop Up Net is used to switch out Mew or you can even use its ability again since it counts as new cards if you manage to get it to the active spot again. Also, you can use it to save Dragapult but mainly Scoop Up Net is played for Mew

Other than that, you can try to play some stadiums like Old Cemetery to increase your damage output or Path to the Peak since you don’t play any Rule Box Pokemon.

Matchup

You will have a hard time if you are facing sniping decks like Jolteon VMAX that can knock your bench before you can evolve it. Dragapult VMAX can also do some sniping but the damage output without Inteleon in play can help you survive some turns.

This deck also can beat some decks with Psychic weakness like Urshifu since your prize trade is favorable. But if you are facing Darkness Type decks, you are in a bad spot since you are weak to Darkness Type.

Also, this deck doesn’t suffer badly if you are facing a disruption deck since you can survive by relying on your Dragapult ability. But, you need to carefully plan if you don’t want to run out of energy.

Other than that, 1-Prize decks can be quite good since you are not getting nullified by Path to the Peak unless you meet Galarian Weezing. But since Dragapult VMAX and Jolteon VMAX are still around, some matchups can be hard for you.

Conclusion

This is a fun budget deck considering it is a single prize deck. It can be immune to damage, hit decent damage, and you can snipe some bench. The only drawback is snipe deck is always around and bricking can cause some problems for you. But if you can get around them, the potential of this deck is huge.
