6 New Cards Revealed From S9 'Star Birth' Japan!

Pokemon Card Game Japan just revealed another new card from the upcoming set S9 ‘Star Birth’ in their Official YouTube Channel. 

 

It will be 9 days left until the official release date (January 14, 2022) and the set will be priced at 4950 Yen per box (30 Booster Pack per Box). The set will be having 100 cards before SR, HR, etc. 

 

It will be featuring a new mechanic, VSTAR Power that is similar to the GX attack that can only be used once per game.

Garchomp

Ability - Supersonic Evasion

When you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon during your turn, you may prevent all effects of your opponent's attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon until the end of your opponent's next turn.

 

WF - Dragon Blade 160

Send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Discard Pile.


Burmy

CC - Hang Down 20


Wormadam - Grass

CC - Madam’s Rage 30+

This attack deals 10 more damage for each Pokemon in your Discard Pile.

 

GCC - Leaf Drain 80

This Pokemon recovers 30 HP.


Wormadam - Fighting

CC - Madam’s Rage 30+

This attack deals 10 more damage for each Pokemon in your Discard Pile.

 

FCC - Constrict 80

During your opponent's next turn, the Pokemon that received this attack cannot retreat.


Wormadam - Metal

CC - Madam’s Rage 30+

This attack deals 10 more damage for each Pokemon in your Discard Pile.

 

MCC - Metal Trash Drop 90


Mothim

CC - Charge Attack 30+

If this Pokemon evolved from [Burmy] this turn, this attack deals 90 more damage.

 

CCC - Wind Rage 80


What do you guys think? With the release of S9 ‘Star Birth’, we are opening a new era of a mechanic, VSTAR. There is still no information about the continuity of VMAX but, let’s hope that we still get it along the way so we can have many combinations of cards and meta.
